Teen shot, woman stabbed in separate overnight incidents in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A teenager was shot and a woman stabbed in two separate violent incidents overnight in Philadelphia, authorities said Monday.

In the 2nd District, a 17-year-old male was shot once in the right hip around 10:37 p.m. Sunday on the highway in the 1900 block of Hellerman Street. Police said the victim was taken by private vehicle to Nazareth Hospital before being transferred to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. He was listed in stable condition.

The shooting scene remains held as police continue their investigation. No arrests have been made, and no weapons were recovered at the scene.

In a separate incident reported by the 14th District, a 29-year-old woman was stabbed in the right arm just after 12:45 a.m. Monday near the 100 block of West Chelten Avenue. She was transported by Philadelphia Fire Department medics to Albert Einstein Medical Center and is in stable condition, police said.

The stabbing scene is also being held, and no arrests have been made. Authorities have not recovered a weapon, and the investigation remains active.

Both cases are being investigated by the Northwest Detective Division.
