LAKEWOOD, NJ – A 16-year-old girl is in critical condition following a major accident that took place t at the intersection of Route 70 and Vermont Avenue.
The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. near the border of Lakewood and Toms River. A box truck was involved in the accident and overturned.
Firefighters were required to extricate one patient from the wreckage.
Multiple individuals were transported to the hospital for medical attention. Hatzolah, a volunteer ambulance service, facilitated the transportation of the injured parties to the hospital.
The 16-year-old girl, who was among those injured, is currently hospitalized and on a respirator. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
