Teens nabbed after stolen car chase through Baltimore streets

BALTIMORE, MD – A stolen car report on North Payson Street turned into a full-scale pursuit Monday that ended with the arrest of four juveniles in East Baltimore.

Police say the incident began around 11:23 a.m. when a 27-year-old woman discovered her parked car had vanished from the 1600 block of North Payson Street.

By nightfall, officers had located the missing vehicle near East North Avenue and North Washington Street.

Aviation units tracked the car as it sped through city streets, eventually following it to the 4500 block of Buchanan Road where the occupants bolted from the vehicle and tried to run.

After a short chase, police caught four suspects — two girls and two boys, all aged 13 and 14.

All four charged in vehicle theft

Investigators charged each teen with Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle. Police confirmed that two of the suspects, a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, have prior robbery arrests.

Officers said no injuries were reported during the pursuit or the arrests. The stolen vehicle was recovered at the scene.

Police credit aviation support in arrests

Baltimore’s Foxtrot aviation unit played a key role in tracking the suspects’ movements from the air, guiding ground officers to their final location.

Authorities said the coordinated response between patrol units and air support helped ensure a swift resolution without further danger to the public.

The case has been referred to juvenile authorities for further proceedings.
