Temperanceville Man Killed After Harley-Davidson Crashes Into Guardrail in Accomack County

A 47-year-old Temperanceville man died at the scene after losing control of his motorcycle on Saxis Road Tuesday evening, according to Virginia State Police.

ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of an Accomack County man Tuesday evening.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 7:48 p.m. on Saxis Road near Hammock Road, according to state police.

Troopers said a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Saxis Road when the rider lost control of the vehicle and went off the roadway.

After leaving the road, the motorcycle struck a guardrail, investigators said.

Rider pronounced dead at the scene

Virginia State Police identified the rider as Christopher J. Taylor, 47, of Temperanceville.

Taylor died at the scene of the crash, according to authorities.

Investigation remains ongoing

State police have not released additional details regarding what may have caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway.

The fatal crash remains under investigation.
