KANSAS CITY, KAN. – A federal grand jury has indicted Alcides Roman, 65, of Lebanon, Tennessee, for allegedly defrauding investors of over $1 million through his business, Remain In Control. Roman faces eight counts of wire fraud and four counts of money laundering.

Court documents reveal that Roman solicited investments for purported high-yield programs through his company, deceitfully acquiring funds under false pretenses. He is accused of failing to invest the money as promised and using it for personal gains without the investors’ consent.

Roman made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. He is scheduled for a subsequent appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Teresa J. James in the District of Kansas on the afternoon of August 9.

The FBI is handling the investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Huschka leading the prosecution.
