Terminally Ill Junior Firefighter Thanks State Troopers for Response

Hope, NJ -Members of Troop “B” Hope Station recently responded to a medical assist at Clover Subacute & Rehab Center in Knowlton Twp., Warren County. During the response, troopers found a patient, Devin Stern, who required transportation to a local hospital due to his terminal illness,

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) Type II, a connective tissue disorder. Currently under palliative care, Devin expressed his gratitude toward the troopers for their assistance and shared his past experience as a junior firefighter with the Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company.

Devin sent an email thanking the troopers for their care and stated they made his year by being there for him. His appreciation was particularly noted for their kindness and emotional support during the transport. The New Jersey State Police commended Devin for his courage and strength in the face of his challenging circumstances.
