Texas man arrested in New Jersey sextortion case targeting child and adult via Snapchat

DALLAS, TX – A 26-year-old Dallas man is facing a slate of serious charges after investigators say he posed as someone else online to coerce explicit content from a child and an adult through Snapchat in a months-long sextortion scheme uncovered by New Jersey authorities.

Detectives began investigating in April after Lyndhurst Police alerted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office about suspicious online activity.
The investigation tracked the source of the messages to a home in Dallas linked to suspect Quristafer D. Land.
Authorities say Land used multiple fake online profiles to manipulate and extort his victims.

On Thursday, investigators from Bergen County, alongside Dallas police and U.S. Marshals, executed a search warrant at the Dallas residence. According to officials, Land was using Snapchat accounts tied to impersonated identities to pressure victims into sending sexually explicit photos and videos over a period of several months. One of the victims was a minor.

Land was charged with first-degree production of child sexual abuse material, second-degree aggravated sexual extortion, third-degree sexual extortion, and third-degree impersonation. He was taken into custody in Dallas and is currently being held in Dallas County Jail pending extradition to New Jersey. Authorities emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be forthcoming.
