End of an Era: Remembering Iconic Chain Restaurants That Once Thrived in New Jersey
Over the years, New Jersey has seen the rise and fall of several popular chain restaurants. These establishments, once bustling with activity and beloved for their unique offerings, have since closed their doors, leaving behind memories of flavors and experiences.
One such chain was Howard Johnson’s, known affectionately as “HoJo.” With its iconic orange roof, Howard Johnson’s was a fixture along highways, offering American classics like fried clams and 28 flavors of ice cream. Another notable closure was Bennigan’s, an Irish pub-themed casual dining restaurant.
