Third Suspect Charged in Connection to 2023 Spruell Drive Homicide

September 26, 2024

GAITHERSBURG, MD – A 22-year-old Gaithersburg man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Orlando Alexander Satz, Jr., which occurred in November 2023. The Montgomery County Department of Police announced that Alonzo Jerome Lyles was arrested on September 25, 2024, following an investigation by Major Crimes detectives.

Satz, Jr., 20, was found with gunshot wounds after crashing his car on Spruell Drive on November 28, 2023. Responders initially arrived to assist after the crash but discovered the shooting had occurred prior to the incident. Lyles now faces charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Two other suspects, De’shaun McCrimmon and Jose Ramon Ventura, were previously arrested. Ventura was taken into custody in June 2024 for aiding in transporting the suspects on the night of the shooting, while McCrimmon was charged with first-degree murder in August 2024. Both men are being held without bond as the case progresses.
