LAKEWOOD, N.J. – A wildfire burning near Pine Park and the Lakewood Country Club in Ocean County has scorched 30 acres as firefighters work to gain control, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service reported on Monday.

The fire, dubbed the Country Club Wildfire, remains 0% contained as of Saturday evening. Six structures on Seminole Drive are under threat, but no evacuations have been ordered, authorities said.

Clearstream Road has been closed between Brewers Bridge and Hope Chapel Road due to fire activity in the area. Ground crews, fire engines, and bulldozers have been deployed to the scene, along with a helicopter used for aerial observation of the blaze.

The Forest Fire Service said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, with no immediate indications of how it began.

Efforts to contain the fire continue as firefighters focus on protecting nearby homes and limiting its spread.
