MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. — Allegheny County Police are investigating a violent domestic dispute that led to a shooting and left three people injured in McKees Rocks on Wednesday afternoon. Officers were called to the 1000 block of Lake Street at approximately 2:32 p.m. after County 911 received reports of an ongoing altercation involving gunfire.
Responding officers discovered an adult female who had been severely beaten and an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. A third victim, an adult male, flagged down a Sheriff’s Deputy nearby and reported that he had been shot in the neck. All three victims were transported to local hospitals and are reported to be in stable condition.
According to preliminary details, the incident began as a violent domestic dispute inside a residence. Authorities say the female victim managed to retrieve a handgun and shoot the male in the stomach. The male, however, was able to disarm her and proceeded to physically assault her with the gun. The confrontation then spilled outside the residence, where the third victim, who was driving by, was struck in the neck by a gunshot fired by the male suspect.
The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has initiated an investigation and will be working closely with the District Attorney’s Office to determine appropriate charges. No further information on the identities of those involved or their current conditions has been released at this time.
