Armed carjacking reported in Northeast DC as suspects flee with moped

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are investigating an armed carjacking in Northeast D.C. after multiple suspects stole a moped and fled the area.

The incident happened around 4:14 p.m. on March 22 in the 900 block of Hamilton Street Northeast, according to a Metropolitan Police Department crime alert.

Authorities said three suspects, described as Black males wearing all black clothing, were armed with a gun during the incident.

One of the suspects was seen wearing a black hat with white stripes.

Police said the suspects stole a black and red moped displaying a Maryland temporary registration before fleeing the scene.

No injuries have been reported, and no further details have been released.
