Three suspects charged for July murder in Fort Washington

FORT WASHINGTON, MD -The Homicide Unit identified and arrested three suspects, two adults and one juvenile, in connection with a fatal shooting in Fort Washington in 2021. The adult suspects are 19-year-old Kyle Moorehead of Oxon Hill and 20-year-old Zion Wormley of Capitol Heights. The third suspect is a 17-year-old male. All three suspects are charged as adults in connection with the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Jether Bonds of Fort Washington. 

On July 24, 2021, at approximately 11:50 pm, officers responded to the 6800 block of Cherryfield Road for a reported shooting. The officers discovered Bonds outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspects shot the victim during a drug-related robbery.

The three suspects are each charged with first degree murder and related charges. They are in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
