Tinton Falls police promote two sergeants, welcome new officer

Tinton Falls, NJ – The Tinton Falls Police Department announced two officer promotions and the appointment of a new patrolman, strengthening its leadership and ranks.

Christopher Duncan, who joined the department in 2011, was promoted to sergeant. A graduate of Toms River High School North and Rowan University, Sgt. Duncan is currently assigned to the Traffic Safety Unit.

William Rodriguez, also hired in 2011, was promoted to sergeant. Sgt. Rodriguez, a graduate of Toms River High School North and Rutgers University, will continue his assignment in the Patrol Division.

In addition to the promotions, the department appointed Austin Lilley as a full-time police officer. Lilley, a lifelong Tinton Falls resident, previously served as a SLEO II officer with the Sea Girt Police Department and worked as a lifeguard for the Sea Girt Beach Patrol. He attended the Stratton Mountain School and Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, where he competed as an NCAA Division I alpine skier.
