Title: Investigation Launched into Capitol Heights Fatal Shooting

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD- Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Morris Haskins Jr. from Washington, DC.

On Friday at approximately 5:50 PM, Maryland-National Capital Park Police and PGPD officers were dispatched to a park located in the 7700 block of Walker Mill Road following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Haskins was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead the following day, Saturday.

Detectives are currently working to identify any potential suspects and determine a motive for the shooting. The Prince George’s County Police Department is responsible for investigating all homicides within the jurisdiction of Maryland-National Capital Park Police.
