Toms River candidate Jason Crispin applauds Mayor Hill’s religious zoning map in new campaign mailer

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Jason Crispin, a candidate running for council in the June 2021 Toms River Republican primary election under the banner of the Mo Hill Team sent out a mailer to township residents applauding Hill’s new religious zoning map.

In the letter, Crispin endorses and supports Hill’s decision to work with Toms River VAAD lobbyist Baruch Kaluszyner to change the township’s zoning ordinance in order to stave off possible litigation.

“[Mo Hill] made the responsible decision to enter into a consent decree which allowed the town to negotiate a settlement,” Crispin said. Crispin said if he was on the council at the time, he would have also sided with Mayor Hill, Council President Kevin Geohegan and township Democrats who signed off on the measure.

Crispin also criticized Republican Councilman Daniel Roderick for voting no on the measure.

“They [Rodrick] will tell you this is Lakewood style development,” Crispin said. “Rodrick’s foolish strategy would have resulting in a [lawsuit].”

Crispin said residents who believe the township should have fought Hill’s proposed zoning change should, “Educate themselves with the FACTS.”

Crispin is running against Rodrick in the June 2020 Republican Primary. Rodrick has been endorsed by the 30-year-old Regular Republican Club of Toms River. Crispin has received the endorsement of Mayor Mo Hill’s newly formed political party. Crispin and his running mates have also been endorsed by the Toms River Jewish Community Council (VAAD).
