Toms River offers stand-up paddleboarding classes for ages 16 and up this summer

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Toms River Recreation has partnered with Coastline Adventures to launch a series of group stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) classes for residents ages 16 and older, beginning in late June and continuing through early September.

The classes will be held on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Shelter Cove Park, located at 1390 Bay Avenue. Participants must know how to swim and are advised to bring appropriate beach gear including a towel, water shoes, sunscreen, a drink, and a snack. Each class costs $40 per paddler and includes equipment. All skill levels are welcome.

Sessions are scheduled for June 29, July 13, July 27, August 17, August 31, and September 7. According to the organizers, attendees can register for individual classes or all sessions, but space is limited.

“Join us for an outdoor paddling experience on the beautiful bay,” the flyer states. “Learn and improve your paddling skills, build fitness, and enjoy nature in a small group setting.”

Registration can be completed online through Community Pass at register.capturepoint.com, accessible from the Toms River Township Recreation page. Walk-ups are not accepted and pre-registration is required.
