The National Weather Service has also issued a Tornado Watch for several locations in New Jersey, including Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Salem, and Warren counties.
The forecast for the Jersey Shore region through tonight includes the possibility of scattered severe thunderstorms. These storms could bring damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning, creating hazardous conditions for the area. Residents are advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions to stay safe during these weather events.
Furthermore, there is a heightened risk of flooding in certain areas, particularly in urban and poor-drainage locations, as well as near small creeks and streams that are vulnerable to rising water levels. The low temperature for the night is expected to be around 69 degrees Fahrenheit, with a south wind of 10 to 15 mph.
The National Weather Service has assigned an 80% chance of precipitation for this period, with new rainfall amounts projected to be between a quarter and half of an inch.
