Traffic and Parking Advisory for Asbury Park St Patricks Day Parade

ASBURY PARK, NJ — The Asbury Park Police Department has issued a comprehensive traffic and parking advisory ahead of the 2024 St. Patrick’s Day Parade scheduled for March 10, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Residents and visitors are advised to note the impact on local traffic patterns and parking availability during the parade festivities.

The parade will commence at 7th Avenue and Ocean Avenue, moving south on Ocean Avenue to Asbury Avenue, then west to Kingsley Street, and south to Cookman Avenue. The procession will continue west on Cookman Avenue to Main Street, with the reviewing stand located at Press Plaza. The parade will conclude after turning north on Main Street, left on Bangs Avenue, and then into the Municipal lot.

Significant road closures will be implemented to facilitate the parade route and ensure safety. Key closures include Lake Avenue from Main Street to Wesley Lake Drive, starting at 12:00 PM, with access restricted to local traffic and emergency vehicles. The 800 block of Bangs Avenue will also be closed from Memorial Drive to Main Street at 12:00 PM. Ocean Avenue, from 7th Avenue to 5th Avenue, will close at 10:00 AM, and the entire parade route will be inaccessible to vehicular traffic by 12:00 PM. Additional closures include Main Street between Lake Avenue and Summerfield Avenue at 1:00 PM and Bond Street behind Dunkin Donuts from Main Street to Lake Avenue at 12:00 noon.

Parking restrictions will be enforced in several areas to accommodate the parade. No parking zones include Press Plaza and the entire length of Cookman Avenue from Main Street to Kingsley Street on both sides, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Ocean Avenue from 7th Avenue south to Asbury Avenue, the Municipal Lot, and Seventh Avenue between Kingsley Street and Ocean Avenue will also have parking restrictions from 9:00 AM to varying times in the afternoon. Vehicles found parked within the parade route will be towed at the owner’s expense.

The Asbury Park Police Department urges attendees and residents to plan alternate routes and adhere to parking restrictions to ensure a safe and enjoyable parade experience.
