CHERRY HILL, N.J. — Firefighters responded Monday, August 3rd to a vehicle fire at The Grand Apartments on Frontage Road after a fallen tree limb brought down power lines onto several parked vehicles.
According to the Cherry Hill Fire Department, fire and EMS crews were dispatched to the scene, where the downed electrical lines ignited one vehicle before the flames spread to several others.
“A tree limb fell on power lines, causing them to land on parked vehicles,” the department said. “As a result, a vehicle caught fire and spread to several others.”
No injuries reported
Officials said all of the affected vehicles were unoccupied when the fire broke out, and no injuries were reported.
The incident also caused a power outage at The Grand Apartments, leaving residents without electricity until utility crews complete repairs and restore service.
“The Grand Apartments buildings have also lost power,” the department said. “The buildings will be without power until the electric company can make repairs and restore service.”
The service was restored later that day.
