Turtle Creek Man Captured for Probation Violation

Pittsburgh, PA—Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced that Ramon Whitley, a Turtle Creek man, has been apprehended on a bench warrant for probation violation.

Whitley, 28, had been a fugitive since May following the issuance of a warrant related to a 2021 guilty plea. The charges stemmed from a minor traffic accident in Penn Hills, witnessed by two Allegheny County Police detectives. During the subsequent pursuit, Whitley allegedly pointed a gun at the detectives before his initial arrest.

Recent information led detectives to believe Whitley was residing with his child’s mother in McKeesport. On Tuesday morning, as detectives approached, Whitley attempted to flee via a back door. He was subsequently captured without further incident and taken to Allegheny County Jail.
