Tuxedo kitten with thyroid condition seeks forever home through AHS Forked River

FORKED RIVER, NJ – Dressed to impress and full of life, Zuzu, a 7-month-old tuxedo kitten under the care of the Associated Humane Societies Forked River, is melting hearts while waiting for his forever home.

The sleek black-and-white feline, affectionately dubbed “the little gentleman” by his foster family, is playful, affectionate, and fully litter trained. Zuzu enjoys the company of both cats and dogs, balancing bursts of energy with cozy cuddle sessions.

Despite his youthful energy and charm, Zuzu lives with hypothyroidism — a manageable condition that requires only a once-daily medication. Shelter staff report that his thyroid levels are improving, and he continues to thrive in foster care.

AHS highlights adoptable pets thriving with medical care

Staff at the AHS Popcorn Park Shelter say Zuzu is an example of how animals with minor health conditions can still lead long, happy lives with the right care. His treatment is simple, and his foster notes that he takes his pill easily — especially when tucked inside a treat.

Prospective adopters can meet Zuzu by submitting an adoption application through the AHS website. Once approved, a meet-and-greet can be scheduled to introduce him to potential new families.
