Two Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges at New Castle Motel

NEW CASTLE, DE – The Delaware State Police have arrested John Gladden, 52, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and an 18-year-old male from Newark, Delaware, on charges related to drugs and firearms. The arrests occurred at the Best Nights Inn in New Castle on the evening of March 30.

Authorities were called to the motel around 9:07 p.m. following a report of a domestic dispute. Upon entering the suspects’ room, officers observed drugs and paraphernalia visible in the area, leading to the arrests of Gladden and the young male without incident.

A subsequent search revealed a loaded handgun and quantities of crack cocaine, heroin, and crystal methamphetamine in Gladden’s possession. The 18-year-old was found with crack cocaine and heroin.

Both individuals were detained and face multiple charges as they await further legal proceedings.
