SOLOMONS, MD – DFC Shoemaker initiated an investigative traffic stop due to suspicious activity in the area of Solomons Landing Way in Solomons, on Saturday.
DFC Hendrickson and K9 Atlas, also from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, performed a K9 sniff of the vehicle, resulting in a positive alert.
The subsequent search revealed two plastic push rods, two glass crack pipes with burnt edges and white powdery residue, and a container holding a white rock-like substance, identified as crack cocaine.
Both the driver, Chelsea Lee Hoofnagle, 38, and passenger, Daniel Joseph Leaman, 40, both residents of Lusby, were taken to the Calvert County Detention Center.
They face charges of CDS: Possession- Not Cannabis and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.
