Two lucky NJ players take $50K each as Powerball jackpot escalates

TRENTON, N.J. — Two New Jersey Lottery players each secured a $50,000 prize in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing after matching four of the five white balls and the Powerball, officials announced Thursday.

The winning tickets were sold at Quick Mart on Knopf Street in Linden, Union County, and Welsh Farms #4 on West Main Street in Farmingdale, Monmouth County.

The numbers drawn were 01, 23, 25, 28, 61, with a Powerball of 13 and a Power Play multiplier of 2X. No ticket nationwide matched all six numbers, leaving the jackpot to grow to an estimated $260 million for Saturday’s drawing.

In the Double Play feature, which offers an additional chance to win with the same numbers, no player matched the winning numbers of 14, 35, 43, 48, 54, and the Double Play ball of 1. The top cash prize for Double Play stands at $10 million.

Lottery officials urged ticket holders to check their numbers and redeem any prizes within the 365-day claim period.
