WASHINGTON — Two men from Pennsylvania and New Jersey were arrested today for allegedly participating in violent conduct during the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. Their actions, along with others, disrupted a joint session of Congress convened to certify the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.
Philip Walker, 52, of Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania, and David Walker, 49, of Delran, New Jersey, face felony charges, including federal robbery, assault with intent to commit a felony, and destruction of property. In addition, they face seven misdemeanor charges, such as assault, unlawful entry, and engaging in violence on Capitol grounds.
Both men were arrested today at their respective residences and will make their initial court appearances in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Walkers, who are brothers, are accused of assaulting an individual, identified as Victim 1, and stealing photographic equipment during the Capitol riot. Philip Walker was seen carrying the stolen equipment, while David Walker allegedly assaulted the victim again during their escape.
Surveillance footage and other evidence captured both brothers inside the Capitol and engaged in violent acts during the incident. The FBI’s Philadelphia and Washington Field Offices led the investigation, with assistance from the U.S. Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Department.
This case is part of the broader investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol breach, which has resulted in charges against more than 1,500 individuals nationwide. The investigation is ongoing.
