Two New Jersey Cops Injured After Colliding With Each Other During Shore Police Chase

Investigation Underway After Atlantic City Police Vehicles Collide

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department is currently investigating a collision that occurred on Thursday. The accident involved two marked police vehicles at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and Pacific Avenue.

The crash, which happened at 5:59 PM, resulted from the police cars responding to a reported robbery.

One of the vehicles hit a traffic control device after the initial collision, causing it to fall and damage a third vehicle. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported from the occupants of the third vehicle.

Two officers involved were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The officers had been en route to Park Place to apprehend a robbery suspect, who reportedly gestured towards his waistband to suggest he was armed, although he was not located.
