US Marshals Arrest Man Who Killed 1-Year-Old

AKRON, OH – On Tuesday, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) apprehended Ian Belcher, 19.

The Akron Police Department wanted Belcher on an aggravated murder charge.

On August 10th, Akron Police Officers were called to a 600 block of Hancock Avenue residence concerning a child’s heart issue.

On arrival, officers found the boy unresponsive. Despite immediate medical interventions, the child was pronounced dead at Akron Children’s Hospital.

Police did not disclose details on the child’s manner of death at this time.

A homicide warrant for Ian Belcher was subsequently issued after interviewing several individuals and analyzing evidence.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Belcher at the crossroads of Gaylord Drive and Dawson Road in Akron, OH.
