Utica Police responded to a threatening situation on March 15, at around 2:20 PM, in the 1000 block of West St. Reports indicated that a male was threatening security staff with a butcher-style knife, repeatedly stating his intention to kill the victim.
Upon the arrival of patrol units, the suspect was located and instructed to drop the knife, which he complied with. He was then detained in handcuffs pending further investigation.
Following interviews with security staff, the male identified as Eric Spencer, 55, of Utica, was transported to the Utica Police Department and charged in connection with the incident.
