UTICA, N.Y. — A Utica woman has been charged with forgery after police say she provided a false identity during a previous arrest, according to the Utica Police Department.
Amanda Farda, 27, was initially arrested in November 2024 on a charge of criminal trespass. During the booking process, police say she provided the name of a relative and signed an electronic form attesting to the false identity.
Authorities discovered the deception when a warrant was issued for the person whose name Farda had used. Upon realizing the mistake, investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division began efforts to locate her.
On February 4, 2025, Farda was taken into custody and charged with forgery in the second degree in addition to the original criminal trespass charge.
