Vehicle Plunges Into Water in I-264 Crash

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Early Saturday morning, at approximately 5:48 AM, a vehicle accident occurred on I-264 east, near Exit 15, where a car veered off the interstate.

The Virginia State Police reported that the vehicle broke through the guardrail and plunged into a nearby body of water.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Virginia Beach General Hospital. Virginia Beach Fire Department and Swift Water Rescue teams were deployed to the crash site to assist in extracting the vehicle from the water and confirmed that no other individuals were in the car.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently under active investigation.
