Victim shot in leg as bullets fly on Montford Avenue

BALTIMORE, Md. — A 39-year-old man was shot in the leg Sunday evening in East Baltimore, prompting a response from Southeast District Shooting detectives.

Officers arrived at the scene around 6:46 p.m. in the 200 block of North Montford Avenue after a report of gunfire. The victim was found with a gunshot wound to his leg.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition. Authorities have not released his name.

Police have not identified any suspects or provided information on a possible motive. The investigation remains open as detectives work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
