Vineland, NJ – A Vineland man has been arrested and charged with multiple drug distribution and firearms offenses following a months-long narcotics investigation that culminated in a search warrant execution, according to the Vineland Police Department.
Jerry Simms, 45, of Vineland, was taken into custody after members of the Vineland Police Department Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the Cumberland County Tactical Response Team, executed a warrant on March 31 in the 400 block of West Park Avenue. The case involves alleged possession and distribution of controlled dangerous substances alongside illegal firearm possession, underscoring ongoing enforcement efforts targeting drug activity near sensitive community areas.
Search warrant leads to multiple charges
Investigators said the operation was the result of a prolonged investigation into suspected narcotics activity. During the search, authorities allege Simms was found in possession of cocaine and MDMA, along with a handgun.
Simms has been charged with multiple offenses, including possession of controlled dangerous substances, possession of a handgun, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Additional charges include possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while committing a CDS offense.
Authorities also filed enhanced charges related to the location of the alleged activity, including possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone and within 500 feet of a public park, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.
