Classic Chevy muscle car vanishes from garage in McDowell County

McDowell County, NC — A vintage sports car disappeared from a residential garage, prompting authorities to ask for the public’s help in locating the missing vehicle.

The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said the car, a 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport, was last seen April 16 parked inside a garage off Bethel Church Road.

The vehicle is described as red with a black convertible top and a white interior. It bears North Carolina tag HAZ9233.

Investigators have not released details on how the vehicle was taken as the search continues.
