Violent Carjacking in D.C. Sparks Major Search for Armed Suspect

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The D.C. Metro Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force is asking the public for assistance in tracking down a suspect involved in a Southeast carjacking incident.

The carjacking occurred on the evening of September 11, 2023, in the 2900 block of Erie Street, Southeast. The victim was confronted by the suspect while unloading her vehicle. The assailant, armed with a handgun, threatened the victim and demanded her car keys. Upon receiving the keys, the suspect took off with the victim’s vehicle.

Authorities have released a photo of the suspect and urge anyone with information to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a tip via the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411, advising against direct intervention.
