The woman matched four of the five white-ball numbers plus the Powerball, according to the Virginia Lottery. That combination normally pays $50,000, but her decision to spend an extra $1 on Power Play doubled the prize to $100,000.
“When I looked at the ticket, I could not believe that I saw what I saw!” the winner said after discovering her good fortune. She chose to claim the prize anonymously, an option permitted under Virginia law.
