Westfield, NJ – Yesterday, the Westfield Police Department and the Town of Westfield Fire Department joined forces to participate in the 40th Annual NJ Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics New Jersey. This esteemed event brought together more than 3,000 officers who hit the streets of their respective communities, engaging in 26 separate legs of the run. The officers began their run as early as 4:45 a.m., dedicating their efforts to raise awareness for the Special Olympics New Jersey.

The Annual Torch Run serves as a prelude to the highly anticipated Special Olympics New Jersey Summer Games, scheduled to take place from June 9-11 on The College of New Jersey campus. This event gathers athletes from various backgrounds and abilities, providing them with a platform to showcase their talent and determination.
