Wilkes-Barre man arrested on warrant after police find suspected narcotics

Wilkes-Barre, PA – A 46-year-old man was taken into custody Monday morning after police said they discovered suspected narcotics on him while serving an outstanding warrant.

According to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, officers responded to the area of 185 Water Street around 8:35 a.m. on September 15 for a report of a suspicious man. During the investigation, officers learned the individual, identified as Donald Promovitz of Wilkes-Barre, was wanted on an active arrest warrant issued by the Lackawanna County Sheriff’s Department.

Promovitz was taken into custody, and during a search incident to arrest, officers reported finding suspected controlled substances on his person. He was transported to Wilkes-Barre City Police Headquarters for processing.
