Warrant issued for Newark man in Madison Avenue burglary

NEWARK, N.J. — Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a 23-year-old Newark man accused of stealing multiple items from a parked vehicle during a burglary last month, the city’s Department of Public Safety announced Monday.

Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. said Jashon King is wanted in connection with an April 16 incident in which a woman’s belongings were stolen from her vehicle in the 200 block of Madison Avenue.

The burglary occurred around 5:16 p.m. After parking her car, the victim returned about an hour later to find her bag removed from the passenger seat. While the bag was located on the ground near the car, several high-value items were missing.

According to officials, the stolen items included a laptop, iPhone, wallet, Apple AirPod case, and a Louis Vuitton toiletry bag.

Following an investigation, detectives identified King as the suspect and secured a warrant for his arrest.
