SANFORD, FLORIDA –  A murder suspect fled from police officers on Thanksgiving Day, leading officers on a high-speed chase before crashing into a fence and jumping into a lake to attempt to evade capture.  Seminole County Sheriff’s Office deputies chased the suspect and pulled him from the water before his arrest.

The Daytona Beach Police Department was assisted by the SCSO and Daytona County Sheriff’s Office with the apprehension of a murder suspect in the Sanford area. The suspect initially stopped for DBPD unmarked units but fled the scene as the officers approached. The suspect eventually crashed the vehicle into a fence on West Seminole Boulevard and fled on foot. He tried to evade capture by jumping into a pond, but he was quickly apprehended without further incident. The suspect was arrested for Fleeing and Eluding in addition to DBPD’s warrant for second-degree murder.
