Wegmans shopper in Rochester scores $50K Powerball prize

ROCHESTER, NY — A Powerball ticket sold in Rochester for the Nov. 23 drawing has earned its lucky holder a $50,000 third-prize win, according to the New York Lottery.

The winning ticket was purchased at Wegmans, located at 3701 Mt. Read Boulevard, a popular spot in the city for lottery hopefuls. The ticket matched four numbers plus the red Power Ball, securing the substantial prize.

Powerball numbers are drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. from two separate pools, one ranging from one to 69 and the other from one to 26. Players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

Lottery officials have not yet disclosed the identity of the winner, but they encourage participants to carefully check their tickets.
