Wilkes-Barre Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure on East Northampton Street

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A Wilkes-Barre man was arrested Monday afternoon for indecent exposure in a public area on East Northampton Street. The incident occurred on September 2, 2024, at approximately 2:17 p.m.

Police were dispatched to the 150 block of East Northampton Street following a report of a disorderly male who was not wearing any clothing. Upon arrival, officers were informed by a bystander that the man had defecated near a concrete barrier.

Officers then located the suspect, identified as 68-year-old Joseph Jackiel of Wilkes-Barre, who was found naked from the waist down in an area visible to passing motorists and pedestrians. Jackiel was taken into custody at the scene and transported to City Headquarters for processing.

The incident is under further investigation.
