Williams College Student From New Jesey Killed in Ski Accident at Pennsylvania Mountain Resort

HANCOCK, MA — A 19-year-old Williams College student has died following a skiing accident at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort on January 6.

Alex Kemp of New Jersey was pronounced dead on January 7 at Baystate Medical Center after sustaining severe head injuries in the crash.

Emergency responders were called to the scene at approximately 2:39 p.m. after Kemp reportedly went over an embankment on the left side of Cutter Trail, suffering significant head trauma.

Jiminy Peak Ski Patrol and Northern Berkshire EMS provided immediate medical assistance before Kemp was transported to Berkshire Medical Center and later transferred to Baystate Medical Center.

Authorities confirmed that Kemp was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and found no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement.
