Wilmington man arrested for armed robbery at Royal Farms

WILMINGTON, Del. — Delaware State Police have arrested 28-year-old Thomas Lowe in connection with an armed robbery at a Royal Farms store on Kirkwood Highway last month, authorities announced Thursday.

The incident occurred on December 21, 2024, at approximately 9:27 p.m., when a man later identified as Lowe allegedly concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying. According to police, when employees confronted him at the store’s exit, Lowe displayed a handgun and threatened them before fleeing the scene in a blue sedan driven by an unidentified accomplice.

Through investigative efforts, detectives from Troop 2 Robbery Unit identified Lowe as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On January 2, 2025, Lowe was located and apprehended by detectives in Wilmington without incident.

Lowe was charged with first-degree robbery, a felony, and arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2. He was remanded to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $60,000 cash bond.
