Woman Arrested for Deadly Shooting of 14-Year-Old Boy in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA—The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) has provided an update on a tragic incident involving the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy on Almandine Avenue. The shooting, initially reported on March 7, 2024, resulted in the death of the young victim, who succumbed to a gunshot wound.

Further investigation into the case revealed that the firearm involved was not properly secured, which allowed it to be accessed by the juvenile suspect charged in the shooting. As a result, on July 14, 2024, 38-year-old Caromekia Parker was arrested and charged with Felony Child Neglect.

Authorities remind the public that the charges listed are merely accusations and that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The VBPD continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
