Woman Arrested in Cumberland After Assault Involving Stun Gun

CUMBERLAND, Md. — A 25-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday following an altercation in the 400 block of Bond Street, according to the Cumberland Police Department. The incident, which took place on the evening of August 24, reportedly involved Chasity Marie Harris, who is accused of assaulting another woman during a confrontation.

Authorities stated that Harris exited her residence and confronted several individuals on the street, leading to a verbal dispute. The disagreement quickly escalated, culminating in Harris allegedly using a stun gun on a female victim. Police arrived at the scene shortly after the altercation was reported and conducted an investigation.

As a result of the findings, Harris was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, affray, and disorderly conduct. She was subsequently taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance.

Harris was released on her own recognizance following the hearing. The Cumberland Police Department has not disclosed further details about the incident.
