Woman arrested in strong-arm robbery at Wilmington shopping center

WILMINGTON, Del. — Delaware State Police have arrested 19-year-old Jazzlyn Johnson of Wilmington in connection with a strong-arm robbery at Canby Park Shopping Center on Monday morning.

The incident occurred on September 2 at approximately 9:23 a.m. Two victims were walking behind the shopping center, located at 1914 Maryland Avenue, when they were confronted by a female suspect who threatened to assault them.

The suspect, later identified as Johnson, briefly walked away before returning with a second suspect. Both suspects then assaulted the victims, punching and kicking them before stealing their belongings and fleeing on foot.

The two victims sustained minor injuries. Police are still searching for the second suspect, described as a Black male wearing dark-colored clothing and a mask.

Johnson was arrested on September 3 and charged. She is being held at Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $14,000 cash bond.
