Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly kissed a sleeping woman without consent before stealing her Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses at a Brooklyn subway station.
The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery on a Brooklyn subway platform early Friday morning.
According to investigators, the incident occurred at approximately 4:10 a.m. on the northbound A train platform at the Nostrand Avenue subway station within the confines of the 79th Precinct and Transit District 30.
Victim was asleep on station bench
Police said a 29-year-old woman was asleep on a bench when an unidentified individual approached her and kissed her on the lips without consent.
The suspect then removed the victim’s Ray-Ban Meta eyeglasses. When the woman attempted to recover her property, the suspect slapped her hand, according to the NYPD.
“An unidentified individual approached and kissed her on the lips without consent,” NYPD Crimestoppers said in a public alert. “The individual then removed the victim’s Ray Ban/Meta eyeglasses.”
Suspect fled onto subway tracks
After taking the glasses, the suspect fled on foot by entering the train tracks and escaping in an unknown direction, police said.
No arrests have been made, and investigators have not released a description of the suspect.
