Woman Assaulted Inside Subway Station in Manhattan

NEW YORK, NY – A violent assault took place at the 28 Street Station on the southbound 6 platform early Friday morning, where a 58-year-old woman was attacked. An unidentified female assailant approached the victim from behind, pushed her against the wall, and then punched her multiple times in the face. The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 AM.

After the assault, the assailant fled the scene on foot. The victim, who sustained minor injuries, was transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, where she is reported to be in stable condition. The suspect is described as a female with a medium complexion and shoulder-length curly hair, about 5 feet 5 inches tall. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and carrying a black bag.
