Woman attacked with cellphone during dispute on Bronx subway train

BRONX, NY – Police are investigating an assault aboard a northbound “2” train Tuesday evening after a woman was struck multiple times in the head during a dispute with another passenger.

Authorities said the incident occurred around 5:25 p.m. on November 25 as the train was approaching the Pelham Parkway subway station.

According to investigators, a 42-year-old woman became involved in a verbal altercation with an unidentified individual, who then hit her repeatedly in the head with a cellphone, causing a laceration.

The attacker fled to an unknown location after the assault.

The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.

Suspect sought in subway assault

Detectives from the NYPD Transit Bureau are investigating and working to identify the suspect, who fled before officers arrived.
